Set in a World Heritage Area, Fiordland Lodge in Te Anau, New Zealand offers the discerning traveller style, comfort and privacy. Fiordland Lodge is the perfect base from where to explore Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound, and the surrounding Fiordland National Park. Fiordland Lodge has one Executive Suite, four Deluxe Lodge Rooms, three Lodge Rooms, one 2 Bedroom Lodge Studio, two Log Cabins and a four bedroom Owners Residence/Lodge.
Fiordland, on New Zealand's south west corner, has long been recognised as one of the great eco-heritage areas of the world. Fiordland is one of the most dramatic and beautiful parts of New Zealand. Stay at Fiordland Lodge and absorb the breath-taking treasures of this region by water, air or hiking. Carved by glaciers over 100,000 years the landscape is one where waterfalls cascade hundreds of metres into deep black fiords; where ancient rainforest untouched by man clings to mountains and where shimmering lakes and granite peaks look as they did a thousand years ago.
The Lodge itself was constructed in 2002 and sits on a superb rural site with rolling grasslands and has commanding views out across Lake Te Anau. Inside the open architecture of the Lodge reflects the vastness of the Fiordland National Park and echoes of the forest are found in the striking natural timber construction. In the lounge, a latticework of huge log trusses soar to over thirty-six feet above and surround a large open fire, clad with local river stone.
We spent two nights at the lodge and really enjoyed our time there. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly, professional and responsive. No request seems to difficult. The team were very respectful and mindful of my dietary needs. How special I felt when I could order gluten free pancakes and also received gf muffins without the need to ask The location is spectacular and a perfect base from which to explore Doubtful Sound. On our second morning we were graced with a visit to our room by the Lodge Spoodle. She was lovely.- Sara B, Germany
Landed here by helicopter after flying around NZ for the morning. Our own personal diver went looking for Crayfish and Abalone and when we arrived the chefs cooked it up. Weather was superb, and service was excellent. This place is really special and possibly created the best memory of my recent trip.- Nikita B, Australia
My wife and I spent two nights in one of their delightful cabins, and the stay was wonderful. The included breakfast and dinner offerings are both on the finer side of cuisine, and the pre dinner service by the fireplace was excellent. The staff is always willing to assist in any wish or need you may have. The views, of course, are stunning.- Michael S, Canada
