Doubtful Sound

Day One:
Enjoy a memorable “unhurried” day excursion to Milford Sound on a small coach, maximum group size 12. Explore spectacular alpine scenery along the way, then once there board Real Journey's new and modern small- vessel “MV Sinbad”. Passenger numbers are strictly limited to ensure a high quality personalised experience, and attentive service. Comfortable coaches with unrestricted views from every seat. Enjoy an informative commentary and numerous photographic stops as you drive on one of the world's most impressive alpine scenic roads. Picnic lunch included.
Return to Fiordland Lodge late afternoon.

Day Two:
· Doubtful Sound Wilderness Day Time cruise. Cruise across beautiful Lake Manapouri, take a scenic coach trip across the Wilmot Pass, and then cruise 2½ hours on Doubtful Sound. Doubtful Sound is a massive wilderness area of rugged peaks, rainforest and twisting, hidden fiords. It is home to the bottlenose dolphins and fur seals-both of which are often seen. On your return you have the opportunity to visit the Underground Power Station at West Arm. Built in the 1960s, and the subject of the “Save Manapouri Campaign”, arguably New Zealand's largest environmental campaign ever, it is one of the country's greatest engineering achievements, and today is a major source of sustainable hydro-power. Stunning scenery all day – make sure you have plenty of film for your camera! Picnic lunch included.
Return to Fiordland Lodge early evening.
